Whether agile hybrids work?

I have been hearing about agile hybrids. Typically these are non agile non traditional projects. They work some time as traditional model works sometime and agile fails some times. There is no guarantee adopting agile will work for all projects. It requires a different mindset to deliver with agile models. Many times agile hybrids are adopted where the team is comfortable (! or knows only that way) with command and control structure. Slowly agile principles are introduced to become the hybrid. This serves the dual purpose of introducing agile in stealth which works better than the big bang approach. Hybrids can be adopted if you have people who know how and why of agile. They should understand why agile works and how to bring the mindset in the team members. This is a catch 22 situation. Your organization should be following agile to have such people. If your organization is a command control shop then these people will not stick for long as they will be completely suffocated. Leaving
